For 5 generations Monument Tools have supported Trainees and Apprentices within the Plumbing and Heating sector. Be it through the Worshipful Company of Plumbers or industry bodies such as BPEC, JTL, APHC, CIPHE and SNIPEF, Monument Tools continue to provide their range of quality tools for Plumbing and Heating Engineers in the form of prizes and bursaries.
Monument Tools also works with groups of professional end users to ensure all the tools they develop are made to save the user time, effort and money. This allows Monument Tools to stamp all products developed with the Monument Masters, By the Trade – For the Trade.
The combination of these two elements led to Monument Tools to a project working in partnership with Leeds College of Building to supply their workshop and ACS assessment centre tools. The main motivation for this relationship being the joint desire of Leeds College of Building and Monument Tools to ensure all learners studying for P&H qualifications did so using the best possible quality tools. The fact that Monument Tools manufacture over 80% of the tools they supply in the UK was also a major deciding factor.
From this first case study and in discussions with many more education providers in the P&H sector, Monument Tools and their partners at Expert Trades realised there was a need to develop a more formal support mechanism for the supply of quality tools to Construction Sector education providers. This is where Trades in Training was born.
